Agreement and operator

These Terms and Conditions govern access to Dabawenyo and its accounts, profiles, search, Manga Hub, marketplace, jobs, events, business pages, tools, and related services. Dabawenyo is an independently operated community platform managed by Didymus22 and is not an official website of, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the City Government of Davao or any government agency.

By creating an account, publishing content, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice, Copyright Policy, and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Age requirement

Accounts are intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. By registering, you confirm that you satisfy this requirement. Dabawenyo may disable an account reasonably believed to belong to a person under 18.

Permitted use

You may use Dabawenyo for lawful personal, community, and informational purposes. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or overload it, upload malicious material, impersonate another person, or use directory information to harass, threaten, defraud, or harm anyone.

Accounts and security

You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity through your account. Use accurate registration information, maintain access to your email, do not sell or improperly share an account, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Dabawenyo may require verification, revoke sessions, restrict features, or disable an account to protect users, content, or the platform.

Your content and responsibility

“User Content” includes text, profile information, social usernames, images, manga, chapter pages, covers, listings, reports, and other material submitted through your account. You retain ownership of your original User Content. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you own it or have all permissions necessary to upload and publish it.

You must not submit content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights; is fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, exploitative, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful; depicts intimate activity without valid consent; contains child sexual abuse or exploitation material; exposes sensitive personal information; contains malware; or promotes crime, abuse, trafficking, or exploitation. Apparent child exploitation may be removed, preserved, and reported to competent authorities as required by law.

Licence needed to operate the platform

When you submit User Content, you grant Dabawenyo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, compress, convert, display, communicate, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, back up, and promote the feature in which you published it.

This licence does not transfer ownership to Dabawenyo. It continues while the content is published and for a reasonable period afterward in backups, security records, legal records, or cached copies. Removing content ends public use of it after reasonable processing time, except where retention is required for a dispute, enforcement, safety, or legal obligation. Any broader commercial use requires a separate agreement.

Featuring and attribution

Public User Content may appear in search results, recommendations, trending cards, previews, Manga Hub, and other discovery surfaces within Dabawenyo. Where reasonably supported by the feature, Dabawenyo will display the creator or account attribution supplied with the content. You must not falsely claim authorship or affiliation.

Moderation and enforcement

Dabawenyo may review reports and may refuse, hide, unpublish, restrict, archive, or remove content, or suspend or terminate access, when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, respond to rights complaints, preserve security, or comply with law. Moderation is not a guarantee that every submission has been reviewed or is lawful.

Where appropriate and lawful, an affected user may be given notice or an opportunity to correct or contest a decision. Serious, repeated, or urgent violations may be acted on without advance notice.

Copyright complaints

Copyright ownership, infringement reports, counter-statements, repeat violations, and restoration requests are governed by the Copyright Policy. Dabawenyo may temporarily restrict disputed content while reviewing a sufficiently supported complaint.

Listings, jobs, events, and marketplace

Users and third parties supply much of the information displayed in listings. A listing does not imply that Dabawenyo has verified, endorsed, employed, represented, partnered with, or guaranteed the person, creator, business, organiser, employer, product, service, job, or event.

Unless expressly stated, Dabawenyo is not a party to communications, applications, meetups, purchases, employment arrangements, or other transactions between users and third parties. Verify identity, authority, availability, price, safety, and material terms independently. Do not send money or sensitive information merely because something appears on Dabawenyo.

Platform intellectual property

Except for User Content and identified third-party materials, the Dabawenyo name, logo, interface, source code, original design, documentation, and platform-created materials are owned by or lawfully used by their respective rights holders. These Terms do not grant permission to copy, sell, impersonate, republish, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected platform material except as allowed by law or written permission.

Availability and changes

Features may be changed, suspended, restricted, or discontinued. Dabawenyo may update these Terms as the platform develops. Material revisions will be identified by a new effective date and, when reasonably practicable, announced through the website. Changes will not retroactively take away ownership of User Content.

Disclaimer of warranties

Dabawenyo is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dabawenyo does not warrant uninterrupted availability, absolute security, accuracy of third-party information, suitability for a particular purpose, or that every harmful submission will be detected. The separate Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dabawenyo and its administrators will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from third-party content, user transactions, external services, unauthorised conduct, or temporary unavailability. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, consumer rights, remedies, or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Termination

You may stop using Dabawenyo and may request account deletion subject to the Privacy Notice. Provisions concerning ownership, licences already exercised, moderation records, disputes, disclaimers, limitations, and applicable law survive to the extent necessary for their purpose.

Applicable law

These terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws applicable in the Philippines, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply to you.

Severability and no waiver

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent allowed by law. A failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later.
