PRIVACY FIRST
Privacy Notice
Effective: August 9, 2026
Who is responsible for your information
Dabawenyo is an independently operated community platform managed by Didymus22. For purposes of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, Dabawenyo determines why and how information submitted to the platform is processed. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to admin@dabawenyo.space.
Account information
When you create an account, Dabawenyo may store your email address, account name, public display name, password hash, account creation date, confirmation that you are at least 18 years old, and acceptance of the applicable Terms version.
Your password itself is not stored. It is processed into a one-way password hash. Your email address is used for account identity and administration and is not displayed on your public profile.
Profile information
A profile may contain a display name, avatar, cover image, profile visibility preference, and optional social-media usernames for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Social usernames are private by default, and a user may choose to expose no more than three through the available visibility controls.
Dabawenyo does not currently ask profiles for a legal name, birthday, phone number, precise home address, wallet address, or profession. Disabled database fields may remain reserved for future development but current pages do not accept or display them.
Public information
If you make your profile public, visitors may see your display name, avatar, cover image, join month, public activity, and only the social usernames you individually mark public. Information you publish in a marketplace listing, business listing, event, or another public feature may also be visible to anyone.
Social usernames can connect your Dabawenyo profile to your identity on another service. Add them only if you are comfortable making that connection.
Content and feature information
When you use Manga Hub, profiles, marketplace, jobs, events, business pages, reports, access requests, or another submission feature, Dabawenyo processes the information needed to publish, secure, moderate, and manage that feature. This may include titles, descriptions, genres, prices, general locations, images, chapter pages, timestamps, status, reports, and the account connected to the submission.
Do not publish a precise home address, private phone number, financial information, government identifier, intimate image, or other sensitive information.
Images and creative works
Images and manga pages you upload may be resized, cropped, compressed, converted, and stored in original or optimized versions as needed to provide the feature. Metadata may be removed during processing where supported. Public uploads can be viewed and reported by other people. Only upload material you are legally authorised to publish and avoid images that reveal unnecessary personal information about you or another person.
Security and technical information
Dabawenyo uses secure session cookies, CSRF protection, prepared database statements, password hashing, access controls, and rate limiting. Session cookies are necessary for login and account security and are not advertising cookies.
The application does not use browser fingerprinting or IP addresses to calculate profile popularity. Like most hosted websites, the web server or hosting provider may temporarily record technical request information, which can include an IP address, timestamp, requested page, and error details, for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
Purposes and lawful grounds
Information is processed to create and secure accounts; deliver requested features; publish content according to visibility choices; authenticate users; send verification and password-recovery messages; prevent spam, fraud, infringement, and abuse; moderate reports; diagnose errors; maintain records of consent and administrative actions; respond to requests; establish or defend legal claims; and comply with applicable law.
Depending on the activity, processing is necessary to provide the service you request, based on your consent or publication choice, required by law, or reasonably necessary for platform security and other legitimate interests that do not override your rights. Dabawenyo does not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Sources of information
Most information comes directly from you when you register, edit a profile, upload content, submit a listing, file a report, or contact the administrator. Some public directory information may come from publicly available sources or authorised contributors. Technical information is generated when your device communicates with the website.
Who may receive information
Information may be available to the public when you intentionally publish it. It may also be processed by authorised administrators and service providers that support website hosting, database storage, backups, security, and email delivery. These providers may process information only as needed to perform their services and subject to appropriate safeguards.
Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with a valid legal requirement, protect users or the platform, investigate abuse, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Dabawenyo does not give third parties access to your password.
Third-party links
Dabawenyo may link to social networks, business websites, maps, calendars, employers, and other external services. Opening those services is governed by their own privacy practices. A link does not give Dabawenyo access to your password or private account on that service.
Retention and deletion
Account information is generally retained while the account remains active. Public submissions are retained while published or while needed to manage the feature. Verification, recovery, and session records expire according to their security purpose. Logs, moderation records, backups, and deleted-file copies are retained only for a limited operational, security, dispute, or legal period before deletion or routine backup rotation.
Some records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to prevent repeat abuse, resolve a complaint, preserve evidence, enforce agreements, or comply with law. You may request correction, removal, or account deletion by emailing admin@dabawenyo.space from the email associated with the account. Reasonable identity verification may be required.
Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to be informed about processing, access your information, correct inaccurate information, object to certain processing, request erasure or blocking, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, request portability where applicable, and lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. These rights may have legal exceptions.
You may also keep your profile private, control optional social links, remove optional usernames, change your password, remove content where the feature permits, or request administrator assistance. A request should identify the relevant account or page without including unnecessary sensitive information.
International processing
Website, email, security, or infrastructure providers may process information on systems located outside the Philippines. Where that occurs, Dabawenyo will use reasonable contractual, organisational, and technical measures appropriate to the service and information involved.
People under 18
Dabawenyo accounts are intended only for people aged 18 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 18. If you believe an underage account has been created, contact the administrator so it can be reviewed.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when Dabawenyo adds, removes, or changes features. The effective date will be updated when a revised notice is published. When reasonably practicable, material changes will also be announced through the website or account interface before they take effect.
