Who operates Dabawenyo

Dabawenyo is a project of Didymus22 for helping people discover local places, businesses, jobs, events, services, marketplace listings, and community profiles in Davao. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to admin@dabawenyo.space.

Account information

When you create an account, Dabawenyo may store your email address, account name, public display name, password hash, account creation date, confirmation that you are at least 18 years old, and acceptance of the applicable Terms version.

Your password itself is not stored. It is processed into a one-way password hash. Your email address is used for account identity and administration and is not displayed on your public profile.

Profile information

A profile may contain a display name, avatar, cover image, profile visibility preference, and optional social-media usernames for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Each social username is private by default and becomes public only when you enable its individual visibility control.

Dabawenyo does not currently ask profiles for a legal name, birthday, phone number, precise home address, wallet address, or profession. Disabled database fields may remain reserved for future development but current pages do not accept or display them.

Public information

If you make your profile public, visitors may see your display name, avatar, cover image, join month, public activity, and only the social usernames you individually mark public. Information you publish in a marketplace listing, business listing, event, or another public feature may also be visible to anyone.

Social usernames can connect your Dabawenyo profile to your identity on another service. Add them only if you are comfortable making that connection.

Marketplace and submissions

If you create a marketplace listing or submit information, Dabawenyo stores the content needed to publish and manage it, such as the item title, description, price, category, condition, meetup area, image reference, creation date, and associated account. Do not publish a home address, phone number, financial information, government identifier, or other sensitive information.

Images

Profile images you upload are processed into optimized versions and stored on the website server. Image metadata is removed during processing where supported. Uploaded images are associated with your account and may be public when used as a public avatar or cover.

Security and technical information

Dabawenyo uses secure session cookies, CSRF protection, prepared database statements, password hashing, access controls, and rate limiting. Session cookies are necessary for login and account security and are not advertising cookies.

The application does not use browser fingerprinting or IP addresses to calculate profile popularity. Like most hosted websites, the web server or hosting provider may temporarily record technical request information, which can include an IP address, timestamp, requested page, and error details, for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

How information is used

Information is used to provide accounts and requested features, enforce visibility choices, prevent abuse, maintain security, diagnose errors, display user-submitted content, respond to correction or privacy requests, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Dabawenyo does not sell personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.

Third-party links

Dabawenyo may link to social networks, business websites, maps, calendars, employers, and other external services. Opening those services is governed by their own privacy practices. A link does not give Dabawenyo access to your password or private account on that service.

Retention and deletion

Account and feature information is retained while it is needed to operate the account or published feature. Security and backup copies may remain for a limited period after deletion until routine backup rotation completes. Information may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, dispute handling, or a legal obligation.

You may request correction, removal, or account deletion by emailing admin@dabawenyo.space from the email associated with the account. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request.

Your choices

You may keep your profile private, control each social link separately, remove optional social usernames, change your password, remove submitted content where the feature permits, or request assistance from the administrator. Turning a public field private prevents it from being returned by the public profile page.

People under 18

Dabawenyo accounts are intended only for people aged 18 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 18. If you believe an underage account has been created, contact the administrator so it can be reviewed.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated when Dabawenyo adds, removes, or changes features. The effective date at the top will be updated when material changes are published. Features involving additional personal information, payments, or cryptocurrency will require a separate review before activation.
